Job Description - Insurance Coordinator We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our growing dental practice as a Dental Insurance Coordinator. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the administrative aspects of dental insurance, ensuring accurate billing, and providing excellent service to our patients. Responsibilities:

  • Verify patients' insurance coverage before appointments for all patients.
  • Confirm eligibility, coverage details, and any pre-authorization requirements.
  • Complete New Patient breakdowns via Park Pediatric Dentistry training
  • Process and submit dental insurance claims in a timely manner as needed
  • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve issues related to claims, coverage, or payments.
  • Follow up on outstanding claims and provide additional information as needed.
  • Utilize knowledge of dental procedure codes and insurance coding to ensure accurate billing.
  • Stay updated on coding changes and compliance requirements.
  • Educate patients about their dental insurance coverage, benefits, and any financial responsibilities.
  • Provide cost estimates for treatments and explain billing details if needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient insurance information, claims, and payments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal protocols.
  • Coordination with Financial Coordinator and dental staff
Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Dental Insurance Coordinator or similar role in a practice
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, insurance policies, and billing codes
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in using dental software such as Dentrix Ascend
  • Quick learner, flexible and can adapt to change well in a busy pediatric setting.
  • A general understanding of insurance policies and schedules is preferred
  • Excellent active listening, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
