About the Role

The Company is seeking a Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Psychiatrist for a key role in the operationalization of a statewide Medicaid Plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of medical services to children, youth, and families, with a focus on ensuring seamless, integrated, and coordinated healthcare. This includes the proper provision of covered services, development of clinical practice standards, and support for an integrated approach to the physical and behavioral health needs of members. The role also involves overseeing the administration of behavioral health medical services, developing and implementing programs to improve quality and outcomes, and may include providing clinical consultation and serving as a strategic advisor. Applicants must be licensed and domiciled in the state of North Carolina, with a Child & Adolescent Board Certification. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in managed care and 1 year working with the child welfare system. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer will work closely with providers, social workers, and local stakeholders to provide comprehensive, whole-person care that addresses the full set of factors impacting health. Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential, and the role demands a professional with a proactive approach to innovation and a commitment to the values and mission of the organization.
