Landscape and Irrigation Designer for Nassau, Duval, St Johns Counties

Ballenger Landcare is a responsible commercial irrigation company specializing in consulting, design and maintenance serving the Greater Tampa Bay area. We focus on enhancing landscape with water-conscious techniques.

Position Overview

In this position as a Irrigation Designer/CAD Technician, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of designers and Irrigation Professionals on multiple projects for a range of master planned communities, public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic individual who wants to expand their abilities in a creative work environment and see their hard work become reality in this growing area we all share.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Use Knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including project set-up, file management, design development, dimension and detail plans, quality assurance, plotting and document assembly.
• Work collaboratively with team to assist in planning, design, CAD drafting and preparation of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates in a variety of landscape/irrigation development projects.
• Perform field surveys for drawing development, site inventory and as recorded as-built drawings.
• Perform site inspections and provide reports to owners representatives, contractors and landcare managers.
• Effectively communicate with other team members and adhere to company standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of software programs including AutoCAD, Irrigation/FX, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat.
• Able to follow office CAD standards.
• Water management skills for local jurisdiction restrictions and rules.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Understanding of Irrigation and Landscape Design principles and various Municipal Code and online code of ordinances platforms.
• Cooperative skills in working professionally with a team as well as independently.
• Expert time management with ability to rise to challenges to meet strict deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to responsibilities.
