Your opportunity:
Herrera is looking to fill an entry-level position for a Landscape Designer with 0 to 3 years of experience. This position involves creation of graphics and renderings, design, research, assisting other Landscape Architecture staff with development of construction documents, and field work. If you are passionate about learning to work collaboratively on restoring natural systems, designing resilient and meaningful places, and continuing to grow and learn across disciplines, apply for this position

Other duties you will be responsible for:
Assisting with a wide variety of design tasks, which may include planting design, developing construction details, preparing concept sketches, conducting code research, and writing reports and memos
Collaborating with other landscape designers and architects, as well as scientists, engineers, and CAD technicians
Proactively managing administrative tasks and communicating with your project teams
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors or masters degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
Strong digital illustration, rendering, or representational graphic skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Pacific Northwest native vegetation and ecosystems
Experience and/or interest in parks, trails, campuses, and other landscapes that blend designing for people and reinvigorating natural systems
Flexibility and willingness to help with field work in other disciplines (e.g. helping collect water quality samples, assisting with field data collection, or any other potential tasks that may need a second field crew member)
Course work and/or project-related experience in ecology, stormwater, and/or natural resource design
Willingness to travel to other offices or project site locations on occasion to support project work, which may occasionally include rugged terrain or remote areas
Preferred Qualifications: A passion for design, planning, and documentation
A focus on collaboration and teamwork
SketchUp, Rhino 3D, Lumion, and/or other 3D rendering skills
Experience with construction administration and/or observation tasks
Background in biology, ecology, earth sciences, environmental studies, or similar fields
Experience conducting site assessments or monitoring
Irrigation design
Familiarity with LandFX software for planting and/or irrigation
Experience with landscape maintenance
