We are currently hiring a Proofreader to proof and edit copy across all Teq’s products and services.  In this role the proofreader will also manage the company’s social media presence, including planning product and service promotions, tracking platform analytics and appropriately interacting with customers and partners online.
The ideal candidate will have a background in proofreading or copyediting, communications or journalism with the ability to quickly proof and edit copy against guidelines for tone, style and flow while working within style of the creative brand.

Additional responsibilities in this role:
  • Performs line-editing and proofreading, checking for formatting consistency, grammatical and spelling accuracy.
  • Checks for adherence to brand editorial style guides for our project-based learning products.
  • Ensures page numbers and headings are correct with casing styles and subheads consistent throughout copy.
  • Verifies photos and illustrations are correctly captioned.
  • Confirms pages are logically arranged and exist in their entirety, ensuring all final copy and format match approved job.
  • Other responsibilities in the creative department as needed.
What you’ll bring to the team:
  • 1-3 years of proofreading, editing or copywriting experience reviewing both interactive and print work – preferably in the education industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational training or business experience in Journalism, English or Communications preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat….
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills a must
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both with or without direct supervision to deliver project objectives on-time.
  • Flexible to adapt to changing priorities with the ability to work under pressure in an evolving, fast-paced environment.
