The Sanitation Manager is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing a comprehensive sanitation program for a food manufacturing facility. The Sanitation Manager is also responsible for monitoring and ensuring food safety and health standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sanitation programs complying with regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Perform Charm Testing, Allergen/Organic testing, and HAACP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) testing.
  • Maintain certification in PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) and other safety related programs (CPR/First Aid).
  • Manage the selection, use, and storage of chemicals in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance procedures are completed according to established protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
  • Track and document sanitation and safety compliance across the facility.
  • Lead employee safety training sessions.
  • Provide guidance to staff on all Food Safety and Sanitation issues.
  • Address and resolve sanitation and safety issues as necessary.
  • Maintain safety data sheets and chemical inventory.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3+ years of experience in Sanitation/Food Health & Safety in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Ecolab Sanitation systems and/or Environmental Health & Safety regulations.
  • Certifications in HAACP and PCQI - preferred
  • Ability to manage and motivate employees to meet sanitation and safety objectives.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility in scheduling due to operational needs.
  • Bachelors degree in Food Science, Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred.
