Senior Center Manager (Part-Time)

We're hiring a Senior Center Manager to plan & organize activities, and work with other center staff & volunteers, to develop program suitable for the active older adults that visit the various Senior Centers operated by the R.C. Durr YMCA.

Salary range is $15.05 - $16.02/hour . Benefits may include an individual YMCA membership, program discounts, and optional retirement savings plan.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to plan and organize senior center activities for customers with diverse interest and needs.
• Supervision and participation in the preparation, packaging and serving of meals.
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of a variety of special events and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other service providers to ensure that a variety of activities and information are available to program participants.
• Recruit volunteers to welcome and register new members at the center, and participate in welcoming activities as necessary.
• Motivate individuals to become involved in center activities.
• Supervise the collection, counting, and deposit of monies. Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the center. Enforce center policies and procedures and sanitary and safety regulations.
• Prepare necessary records and reports.
• Attend training meetings to maintain awareness of changes, new programs and other information.
• Responsible for recruitment of new senior members.
• Promote facility usage to current members to increase average number of scans per member.

Qualifications:

• 21 years of age or older.
• Current state approved CPR/First Aid/AED/ Oxygen certification at time of employment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) or more years experience working in a human services facility.
• Experience coordinating senior citizen recreational programs and activities.
• Current and valid drivers license for OH, KY, IN (as appropriate depending on work location).
