This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and reporting on the overall communications strategy in one of SAP’s most significant Market Units (MUs) - Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). You will create cross-audience external and internal communications plans based on SAP business objectives and the Global Communications strategy. You will manage relationships with multiple stakeholder and influencer groups to ensure alignment and efficiencies across SAP. A key part of the role is to educate, set, and communicate clear communications strategies and priorities to maximize impact. This role builds and manages a strong framework of processes and reporting mechanisms to ensure the ANZ communications function delivers excellent outcomes, maintains high standards of accuracy and business alignment, and scales effectively to support the business. In alignment with the VP Communications Asia Pacific and working within the APAC communications team, you will set annual plans and goals for ANZ, aligning with regional and global priorities and KPIs. You will report on progress using SignalAI, our global reporting tool, to measure and analyze results, and leverage insights to foster continuous growth and excellence. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the APAC and global communications teams, the ANZ MU Senior Executive Team, government relations, marketing teams, and employee networks. Accountability Lead the end-to-end communications strategy in ANZ, focusing on executive and employee engagement. Provide counsel on corporate communications initiatives, including issues management, especially for the MD. Complexity Act as the operational link between SAP's overall strategy, market-specific challenges in ANZ, and communication priorities. Manage multiple high-impact initiatives, identify and address reputational issues swiftly. Experience Set, communicate, and drive outcomes in a fast-paced, complex environment. Deep understanding of the media and business landscape in Australia and New Zealand. Experience managing budgets to maximize outcomes. Expertise in crisis communications and regulatory requirements in ANZ. Experience in executive and employee engagement communications in ANZ. Ability to interpret reports and apply insights for strategic adjustments. Communication Build strategic partnerships internally and externally. Ensure understanding and trust through effective communication. Coach team members for professional growth. Adapt communication styles to stakeholders and media; be a compelling storyteller. Define clear objectives and ensure alignment among teams and stakeholders. Timely and constructive communication of difficult messages; act as a problem-solver. Key Responsibilities and Tasks Align communication strategies with global, regional, and local needs using impactful channels. Derive communication objectives supporting business goals in consultation with stakeholders. Collaborate with internal teams to execute integrated campaigns. Plan proactively and share plans clearly internally. Develop and coach messaging and focus topics for internal stakeholders. Drive employee engagement content and leverage channels effectively. Advise senior management as a trusted communication expert. Manage resources, staffing, and budgets efficiently. Maintain relationships with media, analysts, and influencers; lead media events; coach spokespeople. Use measurement results and outside-in insights to refine strategies, maintaining agility. Experience & Language Requirements 10+ years in designing and executing communication plans. Experience with multiple influencer types (media, bloggers, analysts, government, employees). Excellent English writing and editing skills; native or equivalent proficiency. Leadership experience, including virtual teams and HR processes understanding. Experience in change management, stakeholder, and employee engagement. Strong diplomatic and networking skills; professional communicator. Understanding of IT, SAP products, and enthusiasm for technology. Familiarity with new media and communication technologies. Ability to interpret corporate strategy for local activation. Editorial experience is a plus. Education College and/or university degree preferred (or equivalent).
