Weekly Pay Range - $2619 To $2909
Summary :
- Nurse specializes in the insertion and management of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).
- PICCs are appropriate for patients who need long-term treatments like chemotherapy or nutritional supplements.
- PICC nurses are Registered Nurses (RNs) or Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who are specially trained to place PICC lines into the veins of patients and guide the catheter up through the vein toward the heart, often with the aid of ultrasound imagery.
- They then use X-ray equipment to ensure that the catheter is in the correct place, simultaneously monitoring the vital signs of the patient.
- Reports to Supervisor of Unit.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Inserts PICC/Midlines per physician order at the patient`s bedside or designated area.
- Place PICC lines into the veins of patients and guide the catheter up through the vein toward the heart, often with the aid of ultrasound imagery.
- Troubleshoots/declots obstructed central line catheters.
- Monitors PICC/Midline and educates staff on the prevention of line infection and routine care.
- Submits surveillance data for Quality and Infection Control.
Education & Experience Requirements: - Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, with current licensure in good standing.
- Current RN PICC Certification Evidence of current AHA BLS and ACLS required.
- Evidence of a Minimum of One year of current experience in PICC Specialty in Facility.
