POSITION SUMMARY: The primary role of the Training Manager is to organize, plan and execute training for all Air Force One associates. Identify and assess current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, development conversations, and consultation with management. The successful Training Manager will maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS: HVAC field experience strongly preferred. Vocational teaching or related associate development experience of five years preferred. Ability to travel to other regions in Ohio, up to 10% of the time. Ability to work under minimal supervision to handle complex scope and multiple projects and ensure that schedules, quality, and best practices are achieved. Must possess skills in excellent judgement, problem solving, written and verbal communication, and associate and management collaboration. Valid driver's license, good driving record and the ability to successfully pass a background check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Identify training and talent development needs working with managers and associates.
- Develop career pathways for AFO technicians, complete with training.
- Create both individualized and generalized training and development plans in collaboration with associates and their manager.
- Creation and management of both field training and admin training budgets
- Monitor and evaluate training program's effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them.
- Document all technician training in AFO's Learning Management System.
- Ability to leverage technology to extend training reach and maintain training records.
- Research new training materials and supplies that could enhance AFO's training procedures and provide value to AFO associates.
- Coordinate and organize training events for both field and office associates.
- Build, implement, administer, and help manage a technician apprenticeship program in each office to have a healthy pipeline of technical talent at AFO.
- Establish a long-term relationship with one or more key vocational schools in each AFO market.
- Work with vocational schools to provide feedback on closing the skills gap between graduation and being a high-level technician at AFO.
- Develop and implement training methods that incorporate and embrace diversity in the workplace.
- Support recruiting efforts to bring new talent to the company
- Work with management to build a skills inventory of existing AFO technicians and develop a plan to close any technical gaps that exist.
- Identify future training needs and create curriculum to facilitate that training.
- Build strong relationships with AFO associates
- Seek grant money from state and federal sources to help fund career development.
- Facilitate the administration of the company's performance management programs including talent management and assessment, career pathing, and personal goal development.
- Lead the task force for implementation of mentorship program for field associates.
- Other duties as assigned by Management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Possibility of carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
